Regional Community Manager
As Pacific Power regional community manager for the mid-Willamette Valley area, Doris Johnston is responsible for building and maintaining the company’s community involvement through community activities, infrastructure development, contributions and employee/retiree volunteerism and activism.
Johnstonjoined the company in 1973, and has served in a variety of positions ever since. She served as a customer service representative and meter reader before becoming a district supervisor in 1983. From 1983 to 1987 she was a district supervisor in Roseburg before moving on to become a district manager in Myrtle Creek and then Lebanon. In 1995 she became a customer business manager for Crescent City and from 1997 to 1999 she served as Portland field service co-general manager for Pacific Power’s Western states. Johnston has also held the position of general business manager. She attended Linn Benton Community College.
Johnston is committed to enhancing quality of life in her community the communities she serves. She sits the boards of the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, Albany Millersburg Economic Development Corp, Cascade West Area Commission on Transportation, Linn Benton Community College Foundation and also serves on the following committees, Corvallis Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee, the Dallas Economic Development Commission and Industrial Recruitment Committee, and the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee. She has served as chair and president for multiple chambers of commerce, Boys & Girls Clubs, and other organizations and committees.
She has been a Rotarian in Lebanon, Crescent City, California, Corvallis and presently in Albany. She has served as president, program chair, newsletter editor, school supply drive chair where Greater Corvallis received an award for her efforts. Her and her husband Larry are both Paul Harris Fellow. Her and her husband hosted a Rotary Exchange Student from Germany when they lived in Crescent City.
Johnston and her husband Larry live in Albany, Ore. They have two children, Marcia and Marty, and three grandchildren, Alyssa, Mickenzie and Koen. When not busy working, Johnston enjoys gardening, fishing and spending time with her children and grand-daughter’s. She is also an avid Oregon State Beavers fan.
